Florida has over 50 private universities and colleges throughout the state. While private institutions are not regulated by the state university system, they enroll over 150,000 students.
While these universities are in Florida, they do not offer in-state tuition for Florida residents. Private universities offer a fixed tuition to all students regardless of their state residency, generally making them a more expensive alternative to Florida residents.
