Many stunning plants and beautiful garden items for sale, horticultural advice and craft demonstrations. Scarecrow Competition and displays of art by local school children. Plus an exhibition to celebrate the Town Charters.

Secret Gardens of Higham Ferrers – Sunday 16 June

Maps on sale from the Market Square from 12 noon

Take a stroll around private gardens open to the public for one day only, some large, some small but all tended with love and care. Some will serve cool refreshing drinks and others will sell plants, but all the owners will enjoy showing you the fruits of their labours.

Fynnius Fogg – Friday 21 June | 7.30pm

Performing live music from the 60s & 70s – part of a summer season of music inside the building, presented in association with Higham Ferrers Town Council.

Charter Celebration Day – Saturday 29 June

A special day taking the town back to the granting of the first Royal Charter of 1251

Brass on the Grass – Sunday 21 July | 3–5pm

Presented in association with Higham Ferrers Town Council, this traditional way to spend a summer Sunday afternoon has become an annual event .

Archaeology Allsorts – 27–28 July

Organised by HiFARS, the Higham Ferrers Archaeology and Research Society. Hands on activities, displays of artefacts and local history – bring your finds along for identification by the experts.

Artisans Day – Sunday 4 August

Watch artisans at work, opportunities to ‘have-a-go’, and buy beautiful, unique items including jewellery, leather goods, furniture and artwork.

Lynda Hayes & Steve Stapley & A Time of Day – Friday 16 August | 7.30pm

Award winning songwriter Steve Strapley and London session singer Lynda Hayes take you on a journey of life, love and hope with humour and beautiful harmonies. Supported by A Time of Day, a young alternative rock trio performing a range of covers and original songs in a variety of styles. Part of a summer season of music inside the building, presented in association with Higham Ferrers Town Council.

A chance to clear out your cupboards and make some money or to pick up a bargain.

The return of the Higham Ferrers Horticultural Show

Saturday 14 September 12 noon – 4pm

A chance to show your skills at growing vegetables, fruit and flowers, baking cakes and making preserves. Or just come along to admire the prizewinning entries.

Chichele Society Annual Exhibition – 28–29 September

A display of the history of education in Higham Ferrers. Plus the Higham Ferrers Town Charters exhibition.

Visit Santa in his Grotto – Saturday 23 November

For a pre-Christmas treat that’s as magical as Christmas itself visit Santa’s Grotto in his winter wonderland. Each child receives a present from Santa (entry £3 per child). This is part of the town’s popular Christmas Sparkle.

Cheese and Wine Tasting Evening – Friday 6 December
