Objectives

The aim of the module is for the student

• sees regularities and dependencies in real-world phenomena and describes them with mathematical models

• evaluates models of linear and exponential growth using, among other things, a spreadsheet program and makes forecasts using models

• gets used to evaluating the goodness and usability of models

• is able to use software in modeling, studying the properties of polynomial and exponential functions and solving polynomial and exponential equations in connection with applications.
