Objectives

The aim of the module is for the student

• is able to illustrate a discrete statistical distribution and to define and interpret the characteristics of the distribution

• be able to illustrate the common distribution of two variables and determine the correlation coefficient and regression curve

• becomes acquainted with combinatorial methods

• becomes acquainted with the concept of probability and calculation rules

• understand the concept of a discrete probability distribution and learn to determine and interpret the expected value of the distribution

• be able to use software to retrieve, process and study data in digital form and to present statistical information

• is able to use software to illustrate distributions, determine key figures and calculate probabilities.
