The process for assessing the quality and truthfulness of claims (one of the most useful historical thinking processes).

Use the following to test a claim:

In a world of social media, A.I., internet satire, opinions disguised as news, and parody newscasts, it has become much harder to know what information one can believe and what sources one can trust. It's also becoming more difficult to convince others to believe our own personal claims. Social Studies class is a place where students  should be able to trust books, online articles, videos and images without question. But even here, can you believe without question?

Claim testing is a process for assessing the quality and truthfulness of claims. Use claim testing to support, evaluate, and refute claims.

Sometimes it is difficult to find evidence. In this case, one will have to go with their gut, think through the logic, or rely on an authority.
