A well-developed research paper is a main component of the Social Studies project.
The research paper must contain the following:
A Title Page
Table of Contents
Body of the Paper
Reference Page
Below you will find a detailed description and rubric point value of each of these.
Good titles usually are short, descriptive, and create pictures in the minds of the audience. A title should hint at the subject without telling the whole story like a riddle that sparks interest because it makes the listener think. It should be in the form of a question.
Examples:
California Wildfires: What are the Consequences of its Destruction?
Does Recycling Influence the Economy?
Facebook: Friend or Foe?
How did Walt Disney's dream become a reality?
Your Title Page should include:
Title
School Name
Subject Name
Date
Graphics/Picture is welcome but not necessary
All major elements in the paper should be listed with the appropriate page number.

This part of the paper tells the story of the project. It should include information about the basic purpose of the report, relevant questions asked/answered, and information gathered for the research.
The body of the paper should be:
10 to 12 font size- Normal text font
Double spaced
At least 3 pages- no more than 5
Give credit to ideas and quotes that you used from your sources using parenthetical citations
Normal margins
Explains the topic in it's entirety
Answers the research question (topic)
Includes an introduction paragraph
Includes a conclusion paragraph
Uses good grammar
A bibliography page at the end of the paper that list all sources in alphabetical order.
Remember the following:
Must use APA style citations
Have at least 3 solid sources
Plagiarism is using someone else's words or ideas and not giving them credit!!!
