Junior candidates need to have the following elements to be on track:
3 separate experiences not including the bulk COVID-19 experience in all 3 strands, creativity, activity, service; students should address the 5 Ws of their experience and set SMART goals;
1 proposed CAS project with a defined plan and not something like I plan to create a website about x, I want to raise awareness about y, or I am the captain/president of z team/club;
At least 1 reflection focusing on 1 Learning Outcome and written using the 3-paragraph format.
Those candidates who want to push themselves can also:
Write more reflections.
Candidates often fail to write proper descriptions, citing what the candidate will do, with whom the candidate will work, where this experience will take place, when the dates of the experience are, and maybe even why the candidate has chosen this experience;
They sometimes forget to set appropriate goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely tied to Learning Outcomes;
They need to propose an appropriate CAS project;
and/or they need to write reflections using the template and the 3-paragraph format.
