Evidence is anything other than reflection. Students take pictures of their notes from a tutoring session or a club meeting. They offer images of their time in Best Buddies, or of them on the lacrosse field and the track, or of the masks they made for their neighborhood. Over the course of the 18 months, students begin recording videos during their experiences so that they can add something more. They upload recordings of their concerts, their goals in soccer, their rehearsals, and moments that strike them as fun.
The CAS worksheet ends up being a virtual scrapbook over the 18 months you engage in your experiences and projects. Many seniors tell me that they reviewed their worksheets in the fall of their senior year to begin writing their college essays. You can also download and archive all of this work, all of your pictures, all of your evidence at the end of your senior year if you care to.
