Welcome to Heather's Portfolio
This semester we explored many topics including the exploration of Microsoft office. Throughout the semester I got to learn new skills on software's including Microsoft word, PowerPoint and excel. Although I had previous experience with Word and PowerPoint I learned how to make my presentations more appealing to the eye by adding animations, images and style choices. Another pretty basic thing I learned was how to properly use headings and when to use different heading styles. Even though I've used word since middle school I always just used a text box as my header and made the font size larger. This class actually taught me how to use that function and other functions like the notes section, smart art and animations.
I had no excel experience going into this semester and I now know to navigate through the basics of excel. I will say using excel is quite difficult as a beginner and I under why people take classes for excel. I learned skills such as function, formula, autofill and fill handle.
Another lesson I enjoyed this semester was the cyber security lesson. Getting scammed online has always been a fear of mine and I am fortunate that it has not happened to me yet. With that being said I am not the most experienced with technology and am pretty guilable. This lesson in perticular taught me new information that I already was interested in before taking this class. The cyber security lesson helped teach me to protect myself from cyber criminals and prepared me to watch out for negligence such as phishing, malware, identity theft and fraud.
Overall I am satisfied with all of the new information I learned taking this class. I feel more confident in my skills to use Microsoft software's for professional use.
