Jobair Mahmud is a dynamic humanitarian leader, youth advocate, and social entrepreneur from Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. He is the visionary founder of HEART (Humanitarian Enhancement Aid for Resilient Transformation), a youth-led, voluntary, and registered non-profit organization committed to driving social change and resilience among marginalized communities in Bangladesh.
With a strong background in humanitarian response, sustainable development, and social innovation, Jobair has led HEART to become a proactive voice in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in areas like poverty alleviation, gender equality, climate resilience, quality education, and inclusion of underserved groups such as the Dalit, Indigenous, Rohingya, and gender-diverse populations.
Under his leadership, HEART has implemented impactful grassroots programs in partnership with national and international networks, addressing critical issues such as:
Climate-affected vulnerabilities in coastal and refugee settings
Employment and entrepreneurship for youth
SRHR (Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights) for adolescents and young women
Protection, education, and advocacy for persons with disabilities and gender-diverse communities
Jobair’s work has earned him multiple accolades, including the Policy Action Award, Green Climate Leadership Award, and the TekSHOI Humanitarian Leadership Award. He has also served in coordination roles with major humanitarian actors such as WHO, BRAC, and World Vision.
A passionate changemaker, Jobair continues to inspire youth across Bangladesh to become leaders in their own communities—bridging local innovation with global development goals.
