Sparklers was developed in response to requests from the education sector for tools to help them support and promote the wellbeing of young Cantabrians after the devastating earthquakes.
This resource is for students Y7-13, however activities can be adapted to suit Primary school students. It aims to enhance learning in four broad areas to enable students to develop knowledge, understandings, and skills in the areas of:
• personal identity and wellbeing
• communication and relationships with others
• social issues and social justice (especially against discrimination and exclusion)
• health promotion and action.
Weekly wellbeing resources - Whare Tapa Whā
Teaching and learning materials for health education in the New Zealand Curriculum.
The aim of this resource is to provide teachers with a collection of teaching and learning activities about mental health and wellbeing as part of an educational process for all students. These activities are designed to complement the SPARX app that some students may use as a mental health intervention for mild to moderate mental distress (e.g., depression, anxiety, feeling low or down).
