The physical environment of a community can affect health outcomes. An environment with safe water and clean air, is most likely to have healthy residents. A community that has healthy workplaces, affordable and safe houses, well maintained roads and overall feels safe for all residents are contributors to good health. When a community provides employment and safe and equitable working conditions their workforce tends to be healthier.
