Q. What comes with my Chromebook?
A. Once all paperwork has been signed and approved, you will be issued a Chromebook, carrying case, Chromebook charger and strap. All four components are required to be turned back in at the end of the year in good condition OR upon transferring out of the district.
Q. Am I required to have my Chromebook in a carrying case?
A. Yes. Your Chromebook must stay in your carrying case at all times. Carrying cases and Chromebooks may not go in your backpack. You must carry the Chromebook outside of your backpack.
Q. Can I put stickers on my Chromebook?
A. No. Your Chromebook and carrying case must come back in the same condition it was given to you. You are not permitted to add stickers, writing, etc. to either during the year.
Q. Am I required to have my Chromebook with me every day?
A. Yes. Your Chromebook and materials that go along with your daily classes are needed every day and your Chromebook is to be fully charged at the start of the school day.
Q. Am I required to have my Chromebook in every class? Even physical education?
A. Yes. You will need your Chromebook and the materials that go along with them for every class period, including physical education. K-5 students will leave their chromebooks in the classroom during PE class.
Q. What if I forget to charge my Chromebook battery?
A. Your Chromebook should be fully charged everyday and you should always bring your charger in your backpack.
Q. What happens if my Chromebook or accessories are lost or stolen?
A. You will be required to replace the lost or stolen items: Chromebook ($275), Carrying Case ($30), Charger ($25), Strap ($5)
Q. How do I get technical assistance if my Chromebook is not working properly?
A. Your first point of contact should be your teacher. They will be able to get in touch with the right person to get your Chromebook working again.
Q. Can a student/parent/guardian repair a Chromebook?
A. No, if at any point your Chromebook does not seem to be working properly, report it to a teacher. The teacher will then contact district support to make sure everything is working properly. The district has a wonderful technical support staff that will work to make sure your device is up and running to its full potential. Do not under any circumstance open the back of the Chromebook and try to fix it yourself.
