Two registries exist: American Warmblood Registry - AWR and American Warmblood Society and Sporthorse Registry - AWSSR. The AWR does not allow draft blood and tends to favor bloodlines of traditional European Warmbloods. However, they do accept outstanding individuals from other breeds. QH stallion, Raleighs Full Moon, carried a permanent breeding license with the AWR. Please name the colt using the first letter of the sire's name for your AWR designated foal. The American Warmblood Society became the American Warmblood Society and Sporthorse Registry in 2017. This change was made to better support those in the sporthorse community. As a performance-based registry, AWSSR accepts horses of any breeding as long as they exhibit "sporthorse type". Horses registered in the dissolved Appaloosa Sport Horse Association were grandfathered into AWSSR books in 2018. There are no specific naming rules for your AWSSR designated foal. Both registries hold inspections and horses are entered into various studbooks based on their evaluations. It's a personal choice as to which registry is "better". I have given my horses designations to give you an idea where they or their foals might fit.
