Horseshoe Crest Ranch is back with a new website and a fresh start. I guess you can leave the hobby, but it never leaves you.
I consider this Version 2.0 as loss of most files occurred due to a hard drive crash and I am no longer able to access the original website to make updates.
If you come across a model on this list in which I have indicated a loss of pedigree and you can fill the blanks for me, I would appreciate your help. I have researched abandoned and closed websites to help restore some of these pedigrees.
Many horses on the list are champions, producers of champions or come from champion lines. Though you will find a wide variety of breeds, the Scandinavian and Spanish Colonial Horses are of special interest.
Horses with the HCR prefix represent first and second generation or beyond ranch-bred stock. Your eligible foal will be awarded an honorary brand on its certificate when its sire and dam are owned by HCR.
For the majority of pedigrees where horses appear more than once, these occurrences happen within the 4th and 5th generations.
Please check the retired list if you haven't found something on the active list or if you are looking for older pedigrees. There is also a page reserved for foal bodied sires and dams. Some of these horses also have older pedigrees or heavy model lineage.
If you would like, let me know how your HCR bred show horses are doing.

Thanks for stopping by - Lisa.
Breeding is free for internet requests.
I am interested in trading pictures of the foal for one of the sire's or dam's. Photos may be used in my breeding records and certificates, website, and/or breeding classes.
Send your request to: birddogsgal@gmail.com
Breeding Certificates
I include a "Date of Service" for added realism. This date will be recorded 11 months prior to the foal's birth year and will be determined using a gestation table and the date your request was received.
Includes up to a five-generation pedigree. Extensions maybe available for some model bred horses upon request.
Certificates sent as PDF or MS Word document attachments.
Stud/Broodmare Availability
Stallions are allowed an unlimited number of foals per year. Note studbook openings.
Mares are allowed one foal per year. However, some mares may be allowed one set of twins upon pre-approval. Note open years and provide an alternate in the event your first choice has been taken. Otherwise, I will pick the closest year open to your request.
Aging and non-aging foals are accepted. Please make adjustments for your non-aging foals out of our mares. For example: a request for a 10-year-old non-aging foal made in 2026 would make that foal "born" in 2016. The chosen mare would need to be open for 2016. A six-year-old non-aging foal would be "born" in 2020...and so on. Of course, a one-year-old or younger foal would be born this year.
Breeding Rules
No inbreeding please. Carefully selected line breeding is allowed.
Follow color genetics and breed standards. I will allow certain decorator coats if they are close enough to mimic real coat colors (woodgrains could be chestnut or bay etc.). Please ask about these first.
This is the calculator I use to help determine coat colors: Horse Coat Color Calculator
This is a fun tool and visual aid by Jennifer Hoffman: An Interactive Introduction to Equine Coat Color Genetics
The foal must be a model or figurine. No sims or BSO. You will see Breyer, Hartland, Stone, Schleich, Safari, CollectA, various ceramic, resins and other kinds of horses in my list.
