I have been studying and researching fantasy equid genetics the last few years and will share here the information I have gained. These findings are in addition to the genetics found in real (natural) horses. I have observed both natural and fantasy genetics among the fantasy equid population. In some cases, I have used latinized or given other terms to help distinguish the codes. Of course, research is ongoing and updates will be provided as appropriate. Solid Base Colors – Colors can vary from light to dark, magenta includes reds and pinks, white includes bright white to creamy variations. White is not the same as grey in the natural horse world since grey is a modifier. Grey foals are born dark and lighten with age. White foals are born white and retain the white coat through their lifetime.

Modifiers - Can affect the whole body or isolates on the points (mane/tail/legs). It is unknown at this time how the gene works when isolating these areas, but it is suspected to be a form of an agouti factor. See below under Special Considerations,
Colorshift – Cs
Coat can change colors depending on how the light hits it. Mixes sire and dam's colors, or just the coloring of sire or dam. Homozygous will always result in colorshift.
Polychroma (rainbow, gradients) - Pch
Mixes the sire and dams colors. Heterozygous can pass one or all of the colors, homozygous will always cause the polychromatic effect blending the sire and or dams coloring.
Metallic - Mt
Adds a metallic sheen to the coat or points.
Glitter – Gl
Adds a glitter affect to the coat or points.
Iridescent/Pearlescent – Ir
Unlike the natural pearl gene this adds a pearly/iridescent effect over the coat rather than having an enhancing effect as it would with the natural gene. In general, pearlescent horses can appear white with undertones of base shades, or be any solid color with pearly or iridescent undertones.
Translucent - Tr
Gives a glassy/clear effect, luminous.
Frosted - Fr
Slightly opaque compared to translucent but still luminous.
Patterns - Besides the natural patterns of Lp, To, O etc., you can find these patterns in the fantastical equid.
Filigree - Fg
Gives a white dappling affect not to be confused with dapple grey which whitens with age, the filigree equid maintains its color through lifetime.
Wild Spot - Wlp
Spotting displays as the appearance similar to leopard, jaguar, or cheetah spots.
Wild Stripe - Wpatn
Stripes display similar to zebra or tiger stripes.
Wild Tattoo Wtt
These are body markings that are graphical (scenes, images etc.)
Special Considerations
Keratinized Matter (horns, hooves, feathers)
These are controlled by the Keratin gene (KRT). Patagium (bat wing. gliding wings etc. are not affected as they are composed of skin and elastic fibers).
KRTS - silver
KRTG - gold
Throwback
Skips one generation (foal matching/mimics coloring of a grandsire or granddam) - this gene appears hidden only to be revealed at the foal's birth. May or may not be passed onto offspring. I am still investigating this mysterious gene. See HCR Stardust Nocturne.
Reverse Coat
Foals coat will be a "flip" of the sire or dam. With this gene, for example, a parent who is white with a pink body and white mane and tail will throw a foal with a white body and pink mane and tail. It's possible this is a form of Fantasy Agouti as well, but studies are still on going.
Fantasy Agouti
Testing and research are ongoing. As with the natural horse, this pushes a color in question to the points of the fantasy equid. For instance, gold agouti gives the fantasy equid golden mane/tail/points. Aurora Celeste is an example of how fantasy agouti brings the metallic gold to her points. Agouti may or may not affect keratinized matter, though I have seen individuals with black agouti who also have black horns.
