Common iPAD issues
(a) iPad is disabled due to Passcode lock (with WIFI connection)
DO NOT attempt more than 2 tries if you have forgotten your passcode.
If iPad is disabled, DO NOT restart your iPad as it will prolong the time before the next try.
Fill in this FORM ( https://go.gov.sg/yuanching-ict-helpdesk) for school’s DMA Administrator to clear and reset passcode.
Once enabled, student is to set up Touch ID in the iPad.
(b) iPad is disabled due to Passcode lock (no WIFI connection)
Bring device to ICT office in Computer Lab 3 to reformat the iPad. If you have never backed up your iPad before you forgot your passcode, you will need to back up manually using the adapter and thumbdrive at Comp Lab 3. You will then transfer the files back to On My iPad after the reformat.
(c) Apps disappearing from iPad
Go to Mobile Guardian > Click on Profile at top left > Tap on Settings > clear Browser and cache. Then tap on Sync.
Go to Settings > General> Tap on Reset > Choose Reset All Settings
Fill in this FORM https://go.gov.sg/yuanching-ict-helpdesk) for school’s DMA admin to push in Mobile Guardian and you may sign in to enable apps.
(d) ‘Restricted Site’ prompt when logging in
Go to Settings > General> Tap on Reset > Choose Reset All Settings
Fill in this FORM (https://go.gov.sg/yuanching-ict-helpdesk) for school’s DMA to sync Mobile Guardian in the iPad.
If still shows the same prompt, bring device to ICT office in Computer Lab 3 to reformat the iPad.
(e) ‘Sign-in to App Store’ when accessing apps
Fill in this FORM ( https://go.gov.sg/yuanching-ict-helpdesk) for school’s DMA admin to sync device to school hours or push in Mobile Guardian and Refresh device.
If still unable to access apps, bring device to ICT office in Computer Lab 3 to reformat the iPad.
(f) iPad’s Keyboard is not working
Student may try to remove the iPad from the keyboard and slot the iPad back in properly
Student may also try to restart the iPad.
Student may try the keyboard on another iPad to confirm if the keyboard is faulty
Once confirmed, you may bring the faulty keyboard to Computer Lab 3 for a replacement from vendor.
(g) iPad Profile Switching Issue - Scenario 1
If the iPad is in a block screen state (e.g., Sleep time profile) and is unable to switch to the active school hours profile, press the Sync button and press Home Button until it shows the Homescreen
Otherwise, pease bring your iPad to Computer Lab 3 for quick fix
(h) iPad seems to be laggy
Do a hard reset of the iPad by pressing the top power button and Home button together for about 5 secs until the Apple logo appears.
(i) Lost iPad and how not to be disconnected from DMA
Go to Settings> Touch ID & Passcode.
Disable Control Centre. Other users will not disable your iPad’s WiFi.
Remember to report the lost of your iPad to your FT and ICT Manager, Mdm Anniah. Due to security reasons, we will 'lock' your iPad.
Please make a police report within 1 week of reported loss.
