Device Management Application (DMA)
Please note that when you purchase a PLD, A DMA will come pre-installed on all PLDs purchased through the school and will be installed on any student-owned devices parents/guardians opt for the student to use in lieu of the PLD, subject to parental/guardian consent. The DMA has 3 main components which will support the use of the PLD in the classroom and safeguard students’ cyber wellness:
(a) Classroom Management Service. To help teachers manage students’ use of the PLD during lesson time to improve classroom management and support effective teaching and learning.
(b) Mobile Device Management Service. To help update and manage the PLD, protect the PLD from malicious software, and protects students from objectionable internet content.
(c) Usage Management Service. To enable school and/or parents/guardians to better supervise and set helpful limits for students’ use of PLD after school.
Students who wish to use their existing iPads for the programme must also install the device management application (DMA) software. Please note that the DMA software can only support iPadOS18 and above. Students who wish to use their existing iPads must ensure that their device is compatible to the DMA software used.
For parents/guardians who prefer that your child/ward uses the PLD solely for teaching and learning after school hours, no further action is required.
Parents/guardians who prefer alternative DMA settings can choose from the following options for use of the PLD after school hours:
· Option A: Parents/Guardian can modify DMA settings after school hours.
· Option B: Parents/Guardian can disable the DMA after school hours.
Parents/Guardian can request to change your choice of DMA settings at any time via the FormSG (https://go.gov.sg/ycss-dma-parent-option). However, changes to the DMA after-school options will only take effect on the last Friday of every month.
