About Mark Hayes
Biography
Mark has been at Arizona State University for more than twenty years. Prior to that he worked with Werner G. Kuhr (University of California, Riverside) as a post-doctoral associate after having earned his Ph. D. at The Pennsylvania State University under the mentorship of Dr. Andrew G. Ewing. Professor Ewing is currently the Marie Currie Chair at University of Gothenburg, Sweden. Mark grew up in Ontario, California--some sixty miles east of Los Angeles when it was still largely orange groves, moved to Humboldt State University in the middle of the Redwood National Park for his bachelor's degree in chemistry. Since then he has lived in the Bay Area and Sacramento region of California before ASU. He enjoys his family (wife and two sons), volleyball, cycling and Arizona summers.
