Teachers are the ones who guide the students towards their bright tomorrow. They are the builders of society, nourishing future professionals in their special fields. Unfortunately, the lives of our teachers changed when the COVID-19 pandemic struck. Those same people who taught students for generations by the traditional chalk-and-talk method suddenly had to adapt in a virtual classroom. A classroom where they are facing a screen rather than the faces of their lovely students. A classroom where there’s no chalk to use for teaching, rather there is a mouse and a keyboard that they have to study as it is not their usual familiar equipment.
If this pandemic has taught us one thing, it is that all of us are adjusting day-by-day and that applies to teachers as well. They are superhumans who sacrifice their time, efforts, dignity, and their lives for the future of this nation. Given this, there is a need for a moment to respect and honor our second parents who serve as one of the pillars of our society.
Ligligan Kalalangang Talaturu ( "Festival of Teacher Art" in Kapampangan) is a program that would showcase the talents of the SEd students as a way to honor the sacrifices of our Filipino teachers. It will be composed of Magbunyi and Maglualu as primary categories. Magbunyi is a talent showcase for our teachers while Maglualu is a platform to discuss the issues that the teachers are facing during these trying times.
FLEX YOUR TEACHERS
Have you ever encountered a teacher who touched your life? Who changed your point of view about life? Who helped you at your lowest? Who encouraged you when you were about to quit?
The SEd students Mentioned/Tagged their teachers in the comment section of the post. They can attach their picture/s (which might also be a class picture with your whole class) and they let them know how grateful they are to them.
