Juliet Willetts is a teacher of hatha yoga, in a style based on the ancient yoga texts and founded by Shandor Remete (Sundernath) - Shadow Yoga (https://shadowyoga.com/). For beginners, this style works with simple but challenging preparatory sequences designed to remove energetic blockages and link movement and breath.
Shadow Yoga is a school of hatha yoga. Karana (shapes), asana (posture or seat), pranayama (inner breath) and mudra (gesture) are utilised to support an inward focus, dissolving obstructions and fixed patterns in the body and the mind. 'Vyayama' (prelude forms or sequences) provide a foundation and 'Nrtta sadhana' (pure dance) uncovers the natural rhythmic currents in the body and spontaneous action. The practice cultivates equanimity, gathering of scattered energies, with the goal to reach the natural state in meditation. Progression requires patience, application and an open mind.
Juliet has practiced yoga since 1991 and taught since 1996. She was introduced to yoga by her mother Ruth Willetts in the Iyengar style, and is a student of Sundernath and Emma Balnaves since meeting Shandor Remete in 1995. She teaches at Moore Lane Yoga Room, a shared dedicated yoga space in Austinmer, in the northern suburbs of Wollongong, NSW, Australia. Private classes also available on request.
Location: Moore Lane Yoga Room, 25 Moore Lane, Austinmer
