Both of us come from a long line of beautiful marriages. Adam’s parents have been married over 40 years. My parents have been married for almost 36 years. My grandparents just celebrated their 60th anniversary, my other grandparents were married for 63 years until my grandma’s death in 2019, my grandpa continued to love my grandma everyday until he passed away in September of 2022. These relationships have been our inspiration for how we want our marriage to be.
We believe we need to love and support each other and our children through easy and hard times. We believe that love is what binds us together and makes us stronger. We teach our children the importance of expressing love and kindness to others, whether it's through simple acts of kindness or more grand gestures. We show love by spending quality time with our children, listening to them, and being there for them in good times and bad. We believe that love teaches children empathy, compassion, and understanding. Love should be clear and consistent. We believe that our children should never question our love and should be told multiple times a day how much we love them. They should see our love and the relationships we have with our family and know what love looks like, sounds like, and feels like. We hope to foster a deep sense of love and connection within our family, and encourage our children to spread that love and kindness to the world around them.
Our home is filled with laughter and joy. There is no better sound than a child laughing and playing. Laughter is a core value because it promotes joy, connection, and resilience. Laughter helps us bond and creates happy memories. We love to tell jokes, watch comedies, and just have fun together. Laughter is also a great stress reliever, and it's essential in helping us stay connected during difficult times. It brings us together and allows us to forget about our worries and stresses for a little while. We love to laugh at each other's silly jokes and pranks, and we often find ourselves in fits of laughter over the simplest things. Laughter has the power to uplift our spirits and remind us of the joy in life.
As parents, we know how important it is for children to laugh and have fun. Laughter helps children develop a positive attitude towards life and helps them cope with stress and challenges. We make sure to include laughter in our daily lives by playing games, watching funny movies, reading silly stories, telling jokes, and having silly conversations. We believe that laughter is contagious and that it can create a positive atmosphere in our home. We want our children to look back on their childhood and remember the laughter and joy that they experienced with their family.
We value honesty in our relationships, careers, and choices.Honesty is one of the values we hold close to our hearts. We believe that honesty must start from a young age and that being honest forms the foundation of trust and integrity. We believe that it is important for us to be honest with our children and provide them with opportunities to be honest with us. This comes from mutual respect and kindness toward one another. We make sure to create a safe space for our children to express themselves honestly without fear of judgment or punishment. We believe that by being honest with our children, we can foster open communication and create a strong bond of trust. We want our children to grow up to be honest, responsible, and compassionate individuals who can be trusted to do the right thing. Being honest means being truthful, transparent, and sincere in our interactions with others. It involves being genuine and authentic in our communication, actions, and intentions. Honesty promotes accountability, fosters healthy relationships, and builds a reputation for reliability and credibility. It also helps in making ethical decisions and upholding moral values, even when it's difficult or inconvenient.
Hard work is a core value that we instill in our family. We believe that nothing worth having comes easy and that hard work is essential for success in life. As parents, we know how important it is for children to learn the value of hard work. Hard work helps children develop a strong work ethic, perseverance, and self-discipline. We teach the importance of hard work by setting high expectations and encouraging them to work hard to achieve their goals. We also believe we should praise our children's efforts, not just their accomplishments, to help understand that hard work and dedication are what really matter. We believe that by teaching our children the value of hard work, we can help them develop a sense of pride and accomplishment in their achievements. We want our children to grow up to be responsible, hardworking, and determined individuals who can achieve anything they set their minds to.
We have talked a lot about family and we mean every word about it. Family is the backbone of our lives, and it's a core value that we hold very dear. We believe that family is not just defined by blood or genetics, but rather by the bond we share with those we love. We support each other through the good times and the bad, and we always have each other's backs. We value spending quality time together, sharing experiences, and making memories that will last a lifetime. We prioritize spending quality time with our immediate family, but we also recognize the importance of our extended family. We make it a point to stay connected with our grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and we value their presence in our lives. Our extended family provides us with a sense of history, tradition, and belonging. They are the ones who have been with us through thick and thin, and we know that we can always count on them. Our family is a safe haven and a source of comfort and strength.
Travel is a core value that we hold dear in our family. We believe that traveling is one of the best ways to broaden one's horizons and gain new experiences. As parents, we know how important it is for children to learn about different cultures and ways of life. Traveling helps children develop a sense of empathy, curiosity, and an appreciation for diversity. We teach our children the importance of travel by taking them on trips to different places, both near and far. We expose them to different cultures, cuisines, and ways of life to help them understand and appreciate the world around them. Some of our favorite places to travel as a family include national parks, historical sites, and we would like to take our children to foreign countries. Adam and I have both been lucky enough to travel through our lives. My parents took my brother and I to Europe multiple times and we used to take cross country road trips every summer. They are some of the best memories I have and I learned so much on our trips. Adam was fortunate enough to get to live in Europe for about two months when he was growing up, his uncle was stationed in Germany and they went to visit. He was able to experience so much. He also traveled with his family in an RV frequently and saw the United States. We believe that travel helps our children develop a sense of wonder and curiosity about the world and helps them grow into well-rounded individuals.
Faith is a core value that we cherish in our family. We believe that having faith helps us navigate life's challenges and gives us a sense of purpose and hope. As parents, we know how important it is for children to have a strong foundation of faith. Faith helps children develop values such as compassion, forgiveness, and gratitude. We teach our children about faith by attending church services and praying together as a family. We also encourage them to ask questions and explore their own beliefs. We want our child to feel connected to the religion and faith that is right for them.
We believe that having faith can help our children feel more connected to something greater than themselves and give them a sense of peace in difficult times. Our hope is that our children will grow up with a strong sense of faith and be guided by their beliefs in all aspects of their lives.
Education is a core value that we prioritize in our family. We believe that education is the foundation for a successful future and opens up endless opportunities for our children. As parents, we know how important it is to instill a love of learning in our children from a young age. We teach our children about the importance of education by encouraging them to read, asking them questions, and exposing them to new ideas and experiences. We also make sure that they have access to high-quality educational resources and support them in their academic pursuits. We believe that education helps our children develop critical thinking skills, creativity, and a strong sense of self-awareness. It also helps them become lifelong learners and gives them the tools they need to achieve their goals. Our hope is that our children will grow up with a deep appreciation for education and use it as a tool to pursue their dreams and make a positive impact on the world.
Serving the community is a core value that we hold dear in our family. We believe that giving back to others is an important part of being a good citizen and a responsible member of society. Adam and I serve our communty as a teacher and a police officer. Both our families have a history of service. I am fifth generation teacher. My dad was a police officer, my grandfather was in the Army, and my great-grandfather was the first police chief of Gilbert. Adam's dad was a fire fighter, and both of his grandfathers served in the Navy during World War II. We recognize that there are many ways to serve a community, and we believe that our children should be part of a larger community in some capacity.
As parents, we know how important it is for children to learn the value of service and how it can make a positive impact on others. We teach our children about serving the community by volunteering at local organizations and participating in community service events. We encourage them to think about ways they can make a positive impact on others, whether it's through small acts of kindness or larger service projects. We believe that serving the community helps our children develop empathy, compassion, and a sense of responsibility. It also helps them feel more connected to their community and encourages them to become active participants in making the world a better place. We hope that our children will grow up with a strong sense of service and continue to make a positive impact on others throughout their lives.
Adventure is a core value that we live by in our family. We believe that it's important to embrace new experiences and explore the world around us. We want our children to have a sense of wonder and curiosity about the world and to be open to new possibilities. We encourage adventure by taking our children on trips and outings that expose them to different cultures, foods, and experiences. We also encourage them to try new things and take risks, whether it's trying a new hobby or climbing a tree. We believe that adventure helps our children develop resilience, independence, and a sense of confidence in their abilities. It also teaches them to embrace uncertainty and adapt to new situations. Ultimately, we hope that our children will grow up with a sense of adventure and a love for exploring the world around them.
