Beiwe

Beiwe is an app that lets us collect some data from your phone’s sensors.

DOWNLOAD:

Download from the Apple App Store

For Android: Go to the Beiwe website (for Android). Go to http://studies.beiwe.org/download; Navigating to this URL on an Android smartphone will cause the app to automatically download to the phone.

Open Beiwe.apk in the "Downloads" or "Files" section of your phone, hit NEXT, INSTALL, and OPEN to navigate through the screens and install the app.

Note: As the Beiwe app is downloaded directly from the study website, and NOT from the Google Play store, there may be a warning message on your phone during download (depending on the version of Android software that is currently running on your phone). It might also be necessary to adjust the Security Settings on your phone to "Allow Apps from Unknown Sources.

After download:

1. Launch the Beiwe App by clicking its icon and click Register.

2. Enter the following User ID and passwords:

For Android only: studies.beiwe.org

User ID: Beiwe username [given by research staff]

1^st Time Temporary password: [given by research staff]

Temporary password: [given by research staff]

New password: [given by research staff]

4. You can also fill in our contact information:

Dr. Nock - Primary Researcher Phone: 857-242-0880

Research Assistant Phone: 857-600-2168

5. Once done, press Register. If the app asks you to give it permission for things like GPS, make sure to say yes. All of this information will be stored privately.

For iPhone iOS 13+: Go to iPhone Settings, select Beiwe, select Location, and finally select Always.

Everything is now set up! No need to open this app again.
