The Cathedral is well served by a number of trains, buses, tube and boats.  Unfortunately there is no car parking available at the Cathedral.

We recommend using the TFL Journey Planner to plan your visit if you are using the London Underground, buses, Docklands Light Railway (DLR) or the river buses and cruises.

River Services

MBNA Thames Clippers are the fastest and most frequent fleet on the river with departures from major London piers every 20 minutes.  Their services stretch from Putney to Royal Arsenal Woolwich and cater for all, from early morning communters to families wanting a day out on the river.

You can find out more information from their website here and the closest piers to the Cathedral are;

Car Parking

There is no car parking in the vicinity of the Cathedral.  The nearest car park is in Great Suffolk  Street and is run by Union Car Parks. Details of charges and times can be found on their website here.

Cycling

Bicycle parking is available just outside the Cathedral (opposite Borough Market) and there are additional areas on the north side of the Cathedral on Montague Close.

Santander Cycle docking stations are located in Duke Street Hill just outside London Bridge Station on Tooley Street as well as outside the Hop Exchange on Southwark Street.

Southwark Cathedral is part of the of the Cathedrals Cycle Route which links all 42 Church of England Cathedrals and is a new initiative to promote greener travel and mental and physical well-being.

Our Cycle Champion is Revd. Canon Jay Colwill who can be contacted by email in advance of your journey.

Why not buy a Pilgrims Passport either from the Cathedral Shop or online which can be stamped on your arrival in the shop or at the Welcome Desk in the Cathedral or from the courtyard entrance on the north side of the Cathedral from 21 June.

Information on the Cathedrals Cycle Route can be found here.

General info

All music will be provided on the day. You will be expected to have learnt music made available in advance of the visit. No time in the rehearsal will be given to note-bashing this music. We will spend more time looking at music introduced on the day. We regret that copyright does not allow us to make all music available beforehand.

Cassocks and surplices will be provided on the day (if you are new, please send your approx height and build to Elizabeth at secretary@harsnettchoir.org).

Please wear quiet black shoes and black socks/tights as these might show under your cassock.

We do limit the number of people we can take to fit the stalls and maintain balance between the parts. Places are assigned on a first come first served basis. You will be informed if you have a space as soon as we know final numbers.. Please do not arrange non-refundable travel or accommodation until after this time. If you are unsure or need to know immediately, please contact Ed at md@harsnettchoir.org

We will not be arranging group accommodation for this visit.
