Director of Music
Ed Sutton
Ed received his first organ training under Kenneth Ryder as Diocesan Organ Scholar at St Peter Mancroft, Norwich. He was simultaneously major music scholar at the King’s School, Ely. He read music at the University of Edinburgh and continued his studies at the University of Exeter, where he was Ouseley Senior Organ Scholar, researching the choral music of Giovanni Paolo Cima. Since then Ed has held various organist and choir director positions.
Ed left the music world many years ago and took a better paid career in financial services. He currently works in underwriting and product development in the city and lives in Essex with his miniature schnauzer. He enjoys quizzes and gin, often in combination.

Nicholas Morris
Nicholas Morris spent his early musical years as a chorister at Westminster Abbey under the direction of James O’Donnell. He was subsequently a Music and Academic Scholar at Uppingham School. Between 2011 and 2014, Nicholas held the Organ Scholarship at Queens’ College, Cambridge, where he also read for a degree in music.
After graduation, he moved to the West Midlands and took up the post of Assistant Organist at Birmingham Cathedral.
Following a period as Assistant Organist at Clare College, Cambridge, he is now the Assistant Director of Music at St George's Church, Hanover Square, London.
Nicholas has played for Harsnett since 2009.
Graham Thorpe
Graham Thorpe is the sub-organist of Bradford Cathedral. He has previously held positions at Guildford Cathedral, St Michael Cornhill, London and the Brompton Oratory.
He won several performance and academic prizes at the Royal Academy of Music, where he completed his undergraduate studies in 2017. He completed his postgrafuate study at the Royal College of Music, where he specialised in English romantic repertoire.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists and recently won the Worshipful Company of Musicians F. E. Smith medal. He is also a recipient of the RCO Peter Wiles Scholarship.
Graham has played for Harsnett since 2013.
