Pursuing a minor in Graphic Design has given me some of the most valuable learning experiences in my life. Over the course of my studies, I have learned how to use and become proficient at Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, while also getting a small sample of Animate and Dreamweaver. See below for some of my best digital pieces that demonstrate my ability to design for both web and print mediums!
Console Wars Infographic
This project was done for Typography and Design, and demonstrates my ability to use fonts, color and, spacing to create a pleasing and informative visual.
"The Retro Raptor" Magazine Cover
This cover, created for Publication and Design, is for a fictional video game magazine called "The Retro Raptor," demonstrating my understanding of designing for printed mediums.
Custom Font "Hazeltonian"
This custom font, named after myself, was a project for Typography and Design. I crafted many of these characters with added curvature and extra edges to reflect both my art style and strong attention to detail.
New Realities
In this project for my Digital Photography course, inspired by the late Jerry Uelsmann, I added elements to this generic, sepia-tone photograph to create a more surreal image, by adding UFOs, giraffes, and the Statue of Liberty, all of which would be considered bizarre to see at the original photograph's barren setting.
Animation of a Woman Walking Under the Stars
I made this animation in my Intro to Digital Media course. The blue sky is composed of different textures from a photograph I took of a lake near my family's home in Connecticut, and the stars are the product of a previous logo project. I picked a feminine to animate in order to challenge myself in animating a figure with more defined curves and edges. The backdrop is inspired by Vincent van Gogh's "The Starry Night."
