I believe that the ability to make an impact on the lives of other people is one of the greatest gifts one can have. One of my goals is to go above and beyond to help others, and I take this very seriously. My father and his work as a prep school college advisor is what has inspired me to adopt this mindset. Over a twenty-five year career in college advising, he has helped thousands of students find the right college for them, and the determination my dad has put into each and every one of his students' college processes is what inspires me to go the extra mile to try to make an impact on the lives of others.
The aspect of work that I cherished the most at the Writing Center was that my primary duties involved helping students with their papers. I want to see my students succeed and become stronger writers, and I went into each every appointment with that goal at the forefront of my mind.
It is amazing to think that I was nonverbal for the first four years of my life and struggled with social interactions all the way through high school because now, I love interacting with and helping other people. Whether it be a close friend, family member, a complete stranger, or even someone I actively dislike, helping others is something I truly enjoy, and I put my best foot forward in doing so. I contribute to society by making connections and helping those around me, and I am proud of what I do.
