The Sabi star, also known as the Rose of the Desert, spans its presence across vast regions—from North Africa and the Sahara to the southern territories of Natal and Swaziland. Much like the seed of the Sabi star, which traverses the air, crossing deserts, borders, and countries, our musical journey also embarks on a voyage. We draw inspiration from both old and new melodies that resonate with our love for the rich musical traditions of the broader Greek area and beyond.
In our ensemble, the guitar engages in a harmonious dance with the accordion, and the piano intertwines with the Hawaiian instrument. All of these elements, coupled with three distinct voices, come together to create a vibrant and colorful musical environment.
Members of Sabi:
Haroula Tsalpara: Piano, accordion, voice
Eleni Hartalami: Percussion, voice
Kostis Kostakis: Guitar, Hawaiian, voice
Sabi, much like the Sabi star itself, represents a harmonious convergence of musical elements, transcending borders and bringing forth a unique blend that echoes the diverse traditions of the Greek area and beyond.
