The following discipline guidelines are in place so that students have a clear understanding of the consequences of misbehavior at school. The guidelines will also enable the staff and administration to be consistent and fair in their disciplinary decisions. Students with chronic behavior concerns may enter into a behavior contract which includes a meeting with the student, parent, Behavior Specialist, Principal, and potentially classroom teacher(s) and/or mental health therapist to create clear expectations and supports for appropriate behavior at school. Behavior contracts will explicitly indicate the next steps should behaviors not align with building and district expectations. As every disciplinary case may be unique, or the severity of the case may be different, the administration reserves the right to implement a different disciplinary approach when the circumstances warrant it.
