Local Commanders

Overview

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary delivers local policing across four Local Policing Areas (LPAs) — Eastern, Western, Northern, and the Isle of Wight.
Each LPA is aligned with local authority boundaries, ensuring that police leadership matches community governance and that partnership working remains strong and responsive.

Every area is led by a Chief Superintendent (Area Commander), who provides strategic oversight and coordination.
Each district within that area is led by a District Commander — a Superintendent in city or unitary authority areas and a Chief Inspector in boroughs and rural districts.

They are supported by Deputy District Commanders (Chief Inspectors or Inspectors) who oversee day-to-day policing operations, local investigations, and community engagement.

These senior officers lead teams of dedicated police officers, PCSOs, and staff, all working together to prevent crime, protect the vulnerable, and keep Hampshire’s communities safe.

Chief Superintendent CyprusRoyalty oversees strategic coordination across the Eastern Area, ensuring integrated delivery of response, neighbourhood, and investigation services.
They chair the area Tactical Tasking and Coordination Group (TTCG) to direct resources based on threat, harm, and risk.
