Shelter the Homeless
Note: Please remember that the service projects listed below are suggestions! Feel free to be creative with the ways you choose to perform your works of mercy. All service projects should be done in a way that is safe for all parties involved.
Service Project Ideas
Volunteer or fundraise for organizations that build homes for people
Donate old furniture, pillows, blankets, etc. to those that need it
Know where safe places are and tell people about them (see numbers for shelters and domestic abuse below)
Lend a neighbor your tools
Pay a hotel room for someone who needs it, or help pay someone’s rent
Turn plastic bags into “yarn” to be used to crochet plastic mats for the homeless (see details below)
Put donation box in your church to collect plastic bags and create a group that makes yarn and can crochet the plastic mats
Follow on social media or donate to organizations that help end homelessness.

Dallas Life provides lodging, food, support and many different recovery classes for their clients! They are located off of Cadiz street and always have a list of items that can be dropped off at their back dock.
Jonathan’s Place
Jonathan’s Place provides a safe place, loving homes and promising futures for abused and neglected children, teens, and young adults. Check out their website to donate items, Amazon wishlist or money .
