Fleece Blankets for Children’s Hospitals
Check with your local hospital for donation details.
Below are the details for donations to the Children’s Hospital of Plano.
All blankets and materials must be new. Blankets may be quilted or fleece. Softer fabrics are most used; however, any cotton-based fabric is fine. The greatest need is for blankets that can be used by school-age children or older such as 72'' No Sew Fleece Throw Kits bought at local fabric stores. Please store completed blankets in an unscented plastic bag to keep them clean until delivery. Please do not store items in cardboard boxes.
Button Headbands for Doctors and Nurses
The elastic in masks chafes ears after extensive wear. Some sewers have created headbands with buttons on them for doctors and nurses to wear. The elastic from the mask can loop around the button instead of the ear, which makes for a more comfortable fit. There are a lot of patterns online right now, all with different skill levels and materials! Find the one that works best for you.

Becca's Closet was founded in memory of a teen who passed away tragically in a car accident. In the spring of her Freshman year at Nova High School in Davie, Florida, Rebecca launched a dress drive to provide prom dresses and accessories to high school girls who could not afford to purchase them. Today, her legacy continues through Becca's Closet. You can donate gently used prom dresses and accessories at our local chapter at Ranchview High School in Irving.
