Server Purpose
Roleplay is a mindset and time consuming. It is dangerous in that anything you put it into will come alive in ways you would never imagine. This server is built around the idea of cultivating roleplay in the context of strategy games and specifically paradox. These games provide the arena and setting to be able to make incredibly deep and engaging stories that elevate a fun game of strategy to a story spanning generations and millennia. Roleplay is the end all here, the games and their mechanics are simply vehicles for it with the mechanics and game being in many ways of secondary importance.

Paradox games and the communities that have sprung up around them have sadly come with a lot of toxicity, and surprisingly despite the paradox motto competitive dominates. We are looking to help build something different. This community is a place where toxicity will not fester and through that we hope to help bring some level of this to the broader community. We take to heart paradox’ words “ We make games, you make stories.” by providing a place for that to be done. Roleplay is something that allows for relaxation, character growth, and fun of a most unique sort. Help us in making it happen!

Be respectful
We want this to be a fun, pleasant, and harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

No Inappropriate Language
Swearing is fine in moderation. However, any specifically derogatory language towards any user is prohibited.

No spamming
Don't send a lot of small messages right after each other. Do not disrupt chat by spamming.

No pornographic/adult/othller NSFW material
This is a community server and not meant to share this kind of material. In regards to nazi imagry we explicetely do not allow it unless it is clearly in an educational and historical context.

No advertisements
Games not hosted in our discord can only be advertised after getting approval from a staff member. Promoting streams and other video content is allowed in the promos channel. Discord servers may not be advertised unless the server owner explicitly agrees to a server partnership.

No offensive names and profile pictures
We do not allow offensive imagery of symbology in the server or on profiles. If we notice or get a report of such a thing you will be asked to change it, if you refuse you will be banned. In regards to Nazi imagery we explicitly do not allow it unless it is clearly in an educational and historical context.

Server Raiding
Raiding or mentions of raiding are not allowed.

Direct and Indirect Threats
Threats to other users of DDoS, Death, DoX, abuse, and other malicious threats are absolutely prohibited and disallowed.

Do not join voice chat channels without permission of the people already in there
This applies only when there are multiplayer games going on. Otherwise not enforced.

Harassment of any sort is absolutely not allowed
We take the concept of a positive atmosphere and culture very serious. Sadly many paradox and online communities are very toxic and we refuse to continue that culture. All of the following are unacceptable:
Offensive comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, mental illness, neuro(a)typicality, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion
Unwelcome comments regarding a person’s lifestyle choices and practices, including those related to food, health, parenting, drugs, and employment.
Deliberate misgendering or use of ‘dead’ or rejected names
Gratuitous or off-topic sexual images or behavior in spaces where they’re not appropriate
Simulated physical contact (e.g. textual descriptions like “hug” or “back rub”) without consent or after a request to stop.
Threats of violence
Incitement of violence towards any individual, including encouraging a person to commit suicide or to engage in self-harm
Deliberate intimidation
Sustained disruption of discussion
Unwelcome sexual attention
Continued one-on-one communication after requests to cease
Publication of non-harassing private communication
If you receive harassment of any sort or witness it in any capacity, open up a ticket at the top of the discord so that staff can respond and take action as quickly as possible. We protect confidentiality of reports and will never disclose who makes the report. At our discretion, we may publicly name a person about whom we’ve received harassment complaints, or privately warn third parties about them. We will not name harassment victims without their affirmative consent.
