Flooding is a significant issue in Hoboken, and it is likely to worsen alongside climate change as time passes. Through gardens on rooftops, as well as other open spaces (e.g. balconies, courtyards), any member of the community can fight flooding and help make Hoboken more resilient, sustainable, and green. 

If you are a Hoboken citizen and wish to set up a garden yourself, simply fill out the application form at the ‘Apply Now’ tab. These kits are distributed on a first come, first served basis, so if your application has been approved, you will receive an email confirmation and information on where to pick up your kit. Then, simply follow the gardening guide provided under the ‘Instructions and Guides’ tab for setup. 

These kits are designed to collect excess rainwater, keeping it from reaching the streets and causing damage. Gardening paired with increased green space will also improve general well-being within Hoboken!
