All gardening kits have been given out! Check out our website to learn more about our work!
We have given out all of our gardening kits thanks to the support of Hoboken's community. If you are interested in creating your own, check out the "Kits and Assembly" tab to learn more and see our recommendations.
We guarantee a small packet of a mixed variety of seeds native or naturalized to our area which also absorb lots of water. In these packs, you may find any mix of the below plants!
Ryegrass (Lolium perenne)
Hyssop (Hyssopus officinalis)
Mountain Mint (Pycnanthemum pilosum)
We encourage you to personalize your kits, but please ensure the seeds you use are native to this region. A list of recommended native plants can be found on the 'Kits and Assembly' page.
Of course! We just ask that you ensure that your building allows you to access the space in which you’d set up this garden.
Unfortunately no, we are only working with the City of Hoboken. However, we do encourage you to set up your own rain garden! Information on how to make your own rain garden can be found on the 'Kits and Assembly' page.
Absolutely! The kits can be placed anywhere outside and uncovered, which will allow it to collect rainwater. This can be on balconies, patios, or any outdoor space on your property. An image of the space will be submitted along with your application to ensure that the area is right for the kits.
The full list of contents can be found on the 'Kits and Assembly' page of this website.
There will be three pickup days during May in which accepted applicants can pick up their kits. These dates can be found in the confirmation email.
You will be sent an email formally accepting your application as well as providing you with information on next steps, including available pickup dates. You can expect to receive this email within a week of your completion of the application.
Regardless of if you have been selected or not for this program, you should have received an email from us within a week or so of your application. If you did not receive any email whatsoever, please check that you have filled out the form. If it has been submitted and you still haven't received a message within a week, please let us know at h2oboken@gmail.com.
Please email h2oboken@gmail.com to let us know as soon as possible. Please include your name, the email you used on the form, and how many kits you requested.
Please use an address you will check frequently and is not affiliated with any academic or professional groups. We will be using the address you provide in the form to contact you.
Please email us at h2oboken@gmail.com and we will discuss the situation to determine how to proceed. Please note that if you are unable to pick up a kit due to a physical restrictions, let us know in your email and we'd be more than happy to deliver the kit and assist in assembly if wanted.
I really can't believe that I have to answer this, but such fears have been voiced due to our web host platform of choice. We can assure you, our webpage is very well protected from outside malware through Google web services and internally H2Oboken can not see any personal information further than what is given through the cookies you allow whenever you use a Google product. We are also officially endorsed through the city government and have been verified not to be a scam by them. We do not under any circumstances sell or distribute your data in any way. We elected to use a Google Site as we are a group of high school students with limited funds and even more limited coding knowledge, we hope you understand. Any further fears regarding the site's security can be directed to the official H2Oboken@gmail.com account.
