In this short activity, students visit the Water and Ocean Research Centre near the BEACH school bus stop, and talk to Jess in the basement of the research centre.
Using resources in the Seaforestation section of the Library, students can learn about Seaforestation and its importance in restoring marine biodiversity. Then, they can harvest some kelp in the reseach centre and dive in the ocean to plant new kelp to increase marine biodiversity.
Note: In future updates of the world map, there will be specific locations where students can plant the kelp that will result in automatic repopulation with fish and other sea creatures when complete.
