In this program, your students will:
Use facts from the Lifers art installation at ROM to escape a sunken ship escape room.
Become Urban Planners to make their hometown more sustainable.
Complete multidisciplinary activities about climate change and sustainability
A new version of the world is online, with more complete scene settings for Mend More, Sustainable Symphony, and Class Depository.
Additional lesson expansions and supports will be coming online throughout October.
Welcome! Visit the Hackathon page to learn more about the Sustainable School/Community Global Build Challenge, and learn how to register.
Students enter the world in the bus outside of the local school.
Students talk to the bus driver and choose the Escape Room option.
Students must explore the escape room, talk to NPCs (non-player characters), and use the Sustainable Style Virtual Tour (Tour link) to find clues that unlock the doors to the escape room.
Returning to the town, students complete your choice of optional, multi-curricular activities.
Students apply all knowledge gathered from the Escape Room, Virtual Tour, and activities to the culminating activity, to transform the school or town into a more sustainable community.
