Evacuation

In the case of an evacuation speakers are installed to communicate emergency alerts & sirens. 

There are two stages of alerts,  example final evacution alert:

• To evacuate follow the illuminated EXIT sign to the nearest fire stairs. DO NOT USE THE LIFTS.

• Fire doors are to be closed at all times. Fire doors are also not for entertaining the building. Fire stairs and doors are also to be used in emergencies only and not for convenience. Fines will be issued for the misuse of fire doors is carried out.

Smoke Detectors

Your apartment is fitted with smoke detectors which we maintain with annual safety checks. The smoke detectors must be fully engaged and operational at all times, for the safety of all residents.

If you set off the smoke detectors in your apartment you are able to disable the alarm by pressing the button in the centre,

If you do not disable the alarm (for a non-emergency) and it continues to sound, the FIRE BRIGADE will automatically be called at a cost of $1800 to you.

If cooking smoke has filled your apartment please only open your balcony doors to diffuse; please DO NOT open your apartment door into the corridor as this will set off the internal smoke detectors and the FIRE BRIGADE will automatically be called at a cost of $1800 to you.
