Understanding the Truth about Discipleship: Simply put, staying with Christ is remaining in constant contact with Jesus. Although that concept is straightforward, it may be tough to understand. All human attempts to become divine are pointless and ineffective unless they are linked to Jesus in one way or another (John 15:5-6). Believers who remain in Christ bear fruit, which is a proof of their commitment to the Lord (15:8). The everyday power and persistence that Christians receive from Jesus come from allowing Him to direct their lives. Only the Lord has the ability to sustain, purify, strengthen, and guide persons in such a way that they can gracefully navigate whatever barrier they encounter.
True Facts are as follows: The vibrant Galilee hillside was encircled by an intricate latticework of black vines with vivid green foliage, which added to the overall effect. Purple grape bunches weighed down the branches, causing them to sag. This slope seems to have been decorated with old vines for a number of centuries! While our tour group walked around the vineyard, our teaching leader advised us to open our Bibles to John 15 and meditate on it. After reading the text and listening to his remarks, God brought to my attention some important facts regarding viticulture and remaining in Christ:

Pruning increases the amount of food produced by each plant. It is necessary to remove old and decaying branches in order for new growth to occur. When there is an excessive amount of old timber, overgrowth occurs. Younger branches are taught to grow in the right direction by clipping and trimming them as they grow.
Branches that deviate from the path of least resistance are not welcome. Seeing a long row of vines makes it difficult to imagine a branch breaking off and disappearing into thin air. Each branch benefits from the nutrients provided by the vine. As a result, it is necessary to drastically reduce or completely eliminate the number of unnecessary shoots.

The only way for the plant to continue to develop and receive an abundance of nutrients is to remain connected to the vine. Being fruitful when you aren't connected to Jesus is extremely difficult. It is almost certain that breaking away from the vine will result in death!
Amazingly, the Lord rewards faithful followers by providing them with the opportunity to bear fruit! After months of pruning and maturation, the branches bear beautiful bunches of grapes as a reward for their efforts. The Lord blesses us with lovely fruit that brings life and nutrition to those around us.

Discipleship in Christ is more than a program or a series of exercises. Rather, it's a never-ending stage of development. An individual gives his or her entire life to Jesus and commits to learning about His methods, as well as going, sharing, and educating others about it.
