Yasmine joined the lab in September 2023
Yasmine studied Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry at the University of Oxford. Over the course of her degree, she has been interested in transcription, RNA biology and heterochromatin. During her degree at Oxford Yasmine completed a summer placement at the University of Southampton where she looked into mitochondrial vesicle transport and how that links to the immune response in Parkinson’s disease. Yasmine did her Part II (Master's project) in Gromak lab focusing on the role that R-loops play in the trinucleotide repeat disorder, Friedreich’s ataxia. Yasmine has started her Research Assistant position in the lab in September 2024, continuing her work on Friedreich’s ataxia.
