The JCR and SCR (as explained on the home page), run the college and are here to help you. They work very closely to ensure all aspects of the college run smoothly. The JCR relies on the SCR for support and the SCR help facilitate college events and support students.

All members of staff at Lancaster University are members of one of the nine Colleges. There are numerous ways in which you can get involved.

Staff are able to apply to become members of the College Advisor Team (CAT), Dean, Senior Advisor, Engagement Officer, or even Principal. All Senior Common Room roles report to the Principal and Grizedale College Syndicate. You can also join in our many activities for staff that we hold throughout term.

The SCR also hold their own events! Before coronavirus, our principal started an 'In Conversation with' annual event. Ever wondered what researchers at Lancaster actually do? At each event, our College Princple interviews an academic from the Univesities and invites staff and students along to listen and ask questions. So far, we've featured Dame Prof. Sue Black and Dr Rachel Rigby.

The CAT team is a dedicated team of staff, here to help you with your queries and offer friendly advice. We know coming to uni can be daunting, and that you may have questions along the way.
