Kat, now being a student by normal means was accepted into the school by Headmaster Keifer, and given a place in Hero dorm. Kat wanting to go home and asked what happened to them, where they were from among other questions but Keifer was unsure. but told them that till they figure out what's going on to stay within the bounds of the school, They returned to their dorm more confused than ever but got to meet Leo, Shadow, Mikos, Oliver, and Asta, Kat tried to go near the enchanted forest but felt a dizzying force stopping them from getting no closer than a few blocks without nearly passing out, eventually, Kat took Oliver's advice and went to bed for the night. Kat also meets a Cat named Umbra who follows them home after meeting them at a witch's hut.

Kat mostly flunked midterms though part of that was due to the fact they were only a week or 2 new to the school by that point and didn't understand the material, however, they ended up along with Asta, meeting another new student Cirilla. Cirilla quickly earned their trust and they along with Asta talked for the rest of the midterms, Kat didn't understand most of what they were saying but assumed it was probably fine as they trust everyone and surely they would never do anything wrong, The next day Cirilla asked Kat on an adventure with another student, Kat getting bored of the same familiar school life accepted near immediately, going on an adventure with the other 2 students, Kat explored the other 2 seemingly wanting to help, and being extremely concerned that the child was quite literally able to WALK INTO FIRE without being harmed, plotted on ways to figure something out in regards to what happened to them, however, Cirilla had ulterior motives. Eventually, the 2 convinced Kat to allow them to take blood to help understand the changes done by the witch, Kat now being extremely dizzy after the blood was taken back to the academy confused and dizzy and brought to the infirmary… with nonexistent staff.

A bit passes, Cirilla once again takes Kat on another adventure. This time to plant seeds of doubt on the headmaster and their true intentions, as well as to get resources for building. Kat tags along wanting to help and wanting to once again get out of the bounds of the school. They went travelling trying to get spells from necromancers before returning to the school. Kat Later asked Keifer in regards to their past again, to Cirilla’s dismay but when the headmaster couldn't give anything, Cirilla took it as an opportunity to once again place seeds of doubt in Kat's trust claiming that not everyone can be trusted… but Kat being the lil optimist they are continued believing that everyone is nice and that no one would hurt them. During this time Kat also starts to Trust Shadow, Oliver, Blythe, and Asta more.

A few days pass, and Kat finds themself in a dreamscape, with a meteor landing deep in the forest, they follow using magic to conjure a horse, riding deep into unknown expanses till they find a crater, walking through the crater they find themself untouched by the heat of a freshly fallen star, they walk up to meteorite to find a blade crafted from the stars, staring to the stars voices Kats whisper in their ears, visions flood their mind of a mysterious spell, as they wake confused they find the very blade in their dreams in their hands, they try to get rid of it but it seems bound to them flying back to them. They go outside to meet Mikos and Shadow, Shadow taking a particular interest in attempting to help figure out what Kat saw, he brings them to a Katacomb where when Kat nearly dies, but when they get near to death the magic within the blade and the stars activates summoning a barrage of meteors unto the boss, but kat doesn’t notice and continues fighting the beast till it’s slain. Shadow on the way, Kat also starts to build a secret library in their room after it is clear that someone stuck in and read their diary when they were gone, Asta confesses to reading it and so does Cirilla, but Kat takes Cirilla’s advice and hides their diary so hopefully no one can find it.

The next day Kat runs over to Cirilla’s home, Kat is quickly brought in and brought to a mysterious place beneath their dorms, Kat confused calls it a dungeon and questions why Cirilla has a literal dungeon beneath her dorm, but then they both head back up, Cirilla’s crown gets stolen by Leo to which Kat watches as Cirilla angrily hunts down Leo scaring Kat, A bit later Cirilla shows up. They go out on an adventure, Kat tells Cirilla that others told them not to trust her to which, Cirilla brings Kat out to an ocean monument using a prismarine shard in the moonlight and a suspicious stew to manipulate Kat and making them forget and changing a few subtle memories to make Kat trust her even more. The flash from the prismarine makes them dizzy, Cirilla decides to return them to the academy. Bringing them to Keifer. Kat wakes up one day, excited but Cirilla and Shadow aren't around, looking for adventure Kat finds Mikos and Rei, on the adventure, Kat occasionally without realizing what they were saying finds a suspious stew and says “Wow, it’s just like the one Cirilla made for me” before being poisoned by the suspicious stew. Which absolutely scares Mikos who goes along with it but becomes extremely suspicious of Cirilla. Kat grows attached to a magical horse on the adventure and eventually learns that the horse is summoned by magic and is on a timer. And has to learn what death is before the horse disappears in a puff of smoke in front of them. Kat cries and eventually the 3 return to the academy with Mikos increasingly suspicious of what Cirilla is doing to them.

Cirilla during this time decides to kidnap Kat attempting to use their blood to gain new power believing it to have some kind of significance in Eldritch magic, using a mysterious shell to mimic the power of a Siren’s Song. Kat follows to his hidden library where she locks them in one of their own book storage, taking his tools and placing an enchantment on the bars to keep them locked in there, she calls this temporary cage, the daycare. The next day she moves Kat to her basement, deep within the place Kat once called a dungeon, a place filled with sculk a substance which Kat has trauma with after Shadow brought both him and Cirilla there. Cirilla used this to scare them, eventually using Kat's blood along with sculk to gain access to eldritch magic. A few days pass Kat is still in the bird cage, missing posters are put up by Cirilla, attempting to gain sympathy and trust, Kat’s memories are changed to make it seem like Asta was the one who kidnapped them before Cirilla locks Kat up somewhere else and fakes finding them to gain trust with the others who now suspect her of kidnapping Kat. Kat was later freed but was confused as everyone was telling them different things, the realization that someone would actually hurt them nearly ruined their whole perception of their reality. But eventually, Kat sort of got over it but still wasn’t sure who to trust anymore. During this time Kat got very close to Oliver starting to trust them even more but getting extremely worried when Oliver appeared to get corrupted, Kat didn’t really notice till now what had been happening but didn’t know what to do to help.

Kat talks to Keifer after another exam season, asking if there is anything that could help with their memory issues, the next day Keifer sends Kat out alone on an adventure to find the ingredients, mixing them together and nearly killing an allay that Kat bonded with, named Friend. Keifer gave Kat a potion, and while this didn’t seem to do much anytime someone told Kat to remember something the world would go blurry. Only really remembering things if people mainly Shadow pushed hard enough when in that state, Shadow was able to get the sound of a horse running on the hard stone, before Kat snapped out of it not remembering a thing. Prom happens and Cirilla knowing Sculk scares Kat appears in a Sculk-themed dress, Kat is sort of nervous is scared till eventually, the headmaster comes out stopping the festivities, Cirilla attempts to manipulate Kat into making them think others stole the book of the headmaster’s before eventually all of them wait at the school as Oliver was the one who stole it. Everyone suspects their own thing but Cirilla tries to spin her narrative on Kat which they sort of believe but are very skeptical. Mikos tries to get Kat to stop trusting Cirilla till eventually, Mikos confronts Cirilla in front of Kat, Shadow, Blythe, Oliver, and a few others. Cirilla accidentally calls Kat a Pet, this goes right over Kat’s head but ultimately makes everyone more suspicious of her enough for her to erase that from Kat’s mind with another prismarine shard.

Kat and Oliver go on a trip to Wonderland, a place long corrupted, they are told to not stay too long in Kat and Oliver search around for a challenge Oliver doesn’t tell Kat what it’s for but they eventually play Chess with a ghost and after nearly losing as Kat doesn’t understand Chess. Win coordinates that Oliver takes, Kat asks what they are for but gets no answer. A couple of days later, Kat Katches Cirilla attempting to control Oliver with the song, Kat attempts to stop her but Cirilla shows her true colors, bringing back Kat’s memories, using telekinesis on them, and tormenting them in front of all them, they were a means to an end to her, for her to gain power and as the memories come flooding back in, Kat starts to freak out as now he doesn’t know who to trust, as Oliver continuously tries to get them to go to bed after the traumatic experience…. Kat doesn’t listen eventually Katching Oliver and a few other students in Wonderland and stays to hear the conversation when specifically told to leave. Kat has had enough and stops listening becoming a lot more independent

In the finale Kat, Trusts Oliver, and Shadow somewhat, that’s it the other students he trusts somewhat but they stick close to Oliver though are far more independent, Kat when the world starts to rewind runs over to Oliver scared, the last memory they had before they disappeared was them looking up at Oliver scared wondering what’s going on, asking him what was happening as Oliver seemed to be the only one… not afraid.
