Dear [Redacted].
Over the years, we have been searching for the ideal candidate for a special job that can only be offered when we retire. You have shown tremendous excellence in your studies and in your ability to aid others during your time here at Grimm Academy. It is with great pleasure that we, the Headmasters Grimm, offer you [Redacted] the position of Headmaster at Grimm Academy following your graduation in the coming year.
With this position, you will be able to guide the next generation of fairy tales and legends, and in return you will receive the credit as the story's sole author. However, we must make you aware that there is the slightest possibility of your story being lost in time. We hope you consider the offer, and we hope to hear back from you soon. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, stories come and go, authorship is rare.
Best Wishes, Headmasters Grimm
Dear Headmasters,
I have admired your abilities as storytellers long before I came to this Academy. I pride myself in the story I have crafted for myself, but as you said stories do come and go. I know that I will always be able to live out my story.
I am honored that you have been watching over me and have decided that I would best suit succeeding the two of you. With absolute gratitude, I would like to accept your offer, and I await the wondrous things you have to teach and share with me.
Sincerely Yours, [Redacted]
Dear Headmasters,
I am overjoyed by the amount of work that is required to become the next Headmaster. I feel as though I have learned more about the two of you, as well as more about the kind of instructor I want to be in the future.
While I was sorting through your old documents I found something that peaked my interest. There are numerous books of stories that I have never heard before. Are they stories that the two of you wrote but never published, or are they stories from students who unfortunately didn’t graduate?
I cross referenced the names with old year books and found matching names for every single one. I have no doubts that there is a good reason behind this, but I would like to know what happens to students who don’t receive the proper amount of education to fully live out their story?
A Curious Future Headmaster, [Redacted]
Dear [Redacted],
We are glad to hear that you are enjoying yourself. Not everyone can find enjoyment in the part of storytelling that rarely gets explored. You are truly special in this way.
As for the books you have found, head no mind to them. Students sometimes get carried away with their ideas. They think they can live out multiple lives, but everyone only has the one. Those books are nothing but mere ideas and wishful thinking. If you do not mind, throw them out, or even better yet you may burn them. Remember stories come and go. This is simply part of the process.
Signed, The Headmasters Grimm
Dear Headmasters,
I know my graduation is a year away, but I had a question concerning my story. I am aware that all the stories the students will be living out get put into one book that binds them all together into a single volume. Are there any problems putting a story that will be on temporary hiatus in there with them?
Sincerely, [Redacted]
Dear [Redacted],
We hope you are having a fairly easy going semester so far. We understand your concerns for your story, and we would like to let you know that your story will be placed within the book. Everyone’s stories have to binded together in order for them to be fulfilled, so you do not need to worry.
We have created an updated version of the story you have submitted that includes your time as headmaster for Grimm Academy. Your life will unfold the way it is meant to happen. Have no worries, we will make sure you get your rightful happily ever after.
Sincerely, The Headmasters Grimm
Dear [Redacted]
It appears as though someone has taken the submitted student stories from our office. Those are highly important papers that very much determine the fates of the students here at Grimm.
Those unwritten stories can not leave the premise of this Academy. We hope that you will aid us in recovering the un-binded stories. We can not let anyone edit those stories by any means.
If you do find them, we ask that you do not read through the submitted stories as they are private matters of the students they belong to.
Much thanks, The Headmasters Grimm
Dear Headmasters Grimm,
I found the book. I have placed it back in its original location.
Signed, [Redacted]
Dear Brothers Grimm,
The new year is starting soon. I understand everything Grimm stands for, but it seems that the two of you are choosing to stay for a while before retiring. Do you not trust me?
I’ve done everything you asked, and I feel ever so slightly hurt by the lack of trust. I know the two of you must feel quite attached to the Academy, but I would like to guide the new generations with a new perspective on the values of this school.
I was looking through the older stories that students created. You know the ones that you said to burn. They’re all idealistic in their own way, but they have lessons. Why would anyone want to throw them away? Regardless, I want to discuss the whole headmaster matter in more detail. Preferably in person.
[Redacted]
Dear [Redacted],
We would like to kindly ask that you follow our original instructions and burn those old stories. You saw first hand, during your time at the Academy, that not every story gets written.
WE trust and respect your beliefs and your idealism. However, you can’t expect us to let you blindly run the school without some help your first year. You will have everything we promised in relation to your role as headmaster. Stay in line and follow your story. We won’t ask again.
We hope we can ease your worries as the semester starts and would be glad to meet you to discuss your responsibilities.
Sincerely, The Headmasters Grimm
Brothers Grimm,
I was reading through my class's binded book. Where is my story? I revised the version you made to include my time as headmaster. Why is your version my story?
You speak of value here at Grimm, but you have manipulated my life to fit what? Your beliefs? I will carry out my job as headmaster, but I expect an explanation. Stories come and go, you said, but let me remind you, I’m the author of the stories now. I will make sure that everyone gets to live the life they want.
[Redacted] Never delivered :DDD
Dear [Redacted],
As the semester comes to end we would like to congratulate you for your work and effort thus far. We are glad that you have listened to us and believed in us thus far, and we wish you success in running Grimm Academy from here on out. We will always be watching and always be available to help you.
Sincerely, The Brothers Grimm
Dear Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm,
It's been a full year since the two of you have left me as the acting headmaster here at Grimm. I have been enjoying my job, but sometimes I find myself with nothing to do.
I’ve been reading a lot during my free time, and I can’t help but notice that neither of you have a story for your lives. How is it that the two of you run a school without having your own story written down on paper? I mean, even my story includes my time as headmaster.
Sincerely, [Redacted]
Dear [Redacted],
Oh no don’t worry we don't need a story, we guide others to something that we will never have. You don’t need to worry about such trivial matters. We ask that you stay focused on what matters.
Signed, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm
Dear Brothers Grimm,
As much as I appreciate your blatant selflessness, I think that things need to change. You may think that I asked those questions out of curiosity and genuine concern for the injustice that I think the two of you are facing by not having a story, but that is just not the case. You two have a story.
I hope you two realize that I know what you did and you will pay for everything. That is a promise. I wanted to give the two of you the benefit of the doubt, but I am done playing the good guy here.
[Redacted]
Dear [Redacted],
You are breaking some of the most important rules with storytelling. You have no idea what you are doing in writing a story for someone else. Neither of us will allow you to do this.
Jacob and Wilhelm
You have no idea what I'm willing to do.
