Next Meet Up: 21st March 2026 Greenwich Park Maze Entrance 11.30am
Got questions? Here's everything you need to know before trotting along with the sausage squad!
Nothing at all - our walks are completely free. From time to time, we may suggest a small optional donation to support dachshund rescues or charities if we are hosting something particular, but there's never any pressure!
It depends on the location, but usually minimum 30 minutes and maximum 60 minutes at a nice steady pace with plenty of sniffing, photo stops, water breaks and sausage chats.
We try to choose locations with easy parking or public transport links. Check the event details on our socials for each walk.
Yes, friendly non-dachshunds are welcome. Just a little heads-up though - dachshunds can sometimes be a bit "exclusive" and prefer their own kind, so don't be surprised if the sausages stick together or are very vocal if you're there...don't take it personally - they're just being their quirky selves!
Absolutely! Many sausages are shy or barky at first. You won't be alone, and everyone is welcome.
All of our walk details are uploaded onto our socials, and we also create a Facebook event each month where you can click "attending". That way we know to look out for you! We also recommend adding the date to your own calendar so you don't forget - the sausages wouldn't want to miss you!
This depends on the location and recall - if the location permits it and your dog's recall is reliable, off-lead is fine where safe. If not, we recommend a long line so they can enjoy the freedom safely. However, please be courteous of others - some dogs in the group (or ones we may meet along the way) may need to stay on the lead for health, training, or behavioural reasons. If that is the case, we ask that off-lead dogs are called back and given space so everyone feels comfortable and safe.
Our walks go ahead in most weathers - though, as any sausage owner knows, dachshunds aren't the biggest fans of rain! Expect a few sulky looks and sausage shuffles. Just bring your waterproofs (and maybe a towel for your pup). If the weather is really unsafe (like storms or extreme conditions), we'll post an update on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
In warm weather we take extra care to keep the sausages safe. Walks will be scheduled for cooler times of day where possible, and we'll always slow the pace, take breaks in shaded spots, and make sure water stops are included. We also recommend putting a cooling vest on your sausage too! If it's too hot for safe walking, we'll reschedule and update everyone on our socials.
