07/24/2024 EXOSPHERE Lore Notes

EXOSPHERE is a multinational technology, cybersecurity, and paranormal research operation with many affiliate branches of numerous function. The company was at one time headed by Nikola Radenović and the man who now calls himself Rook. They made extraordinary advancements in the field of Artificial Intelligence but publicly released very little. Though they worked side by side on many projects, Rook began to resent Nikola for his restraint and regard for "ethical" science and experimentation. Rook later defected from the company, but not before making off with what pieces of the AI research that he could use to his own ends. After many years of solitude and exhaustive work Rook innovated EXOSPHERE's research and technology to create PARAGON, the world's first Artificial Sentience. 

With the increasing reports of demon threats around the world, as well as the appearance of several angelkin, EXOSPHERE opened multiple projects to investigate the events. In large part these were kept quiet, such as the rampage of Feral Arturo, the disappearance of Kilton Reiss after his attempted murder of Hail Casimir, and the arrival of the Archangel of Hope on Earth. With tension mounting, however, EXOSPHERE found it increasingly difficult to veil these occurrences or provide sufficient distraction to the global public, especially with a demon so blatant and boisterous as Cirogaan on the loose.

The Archangel of Honor's pilgrimage was quite fruitful in that he is responsible for learning the mechanism of and naming the Nexus Event. He may have been surprised to learn that the Overneath was actually a bargain struck between The Archangel of Radiance and the Archdemon Antistrophe to give sanctuary to demonkind. He made many other discoveries during his time on Earth which he stowed away inside of a hidden reliquary. Many speculate that these findings would reveal more secrets about demon behavior, powers, and perhaps their motivations. When Honor disappeared, the search for for him and his reliquary began. 

Notable parties in search of Honor's Reliquary:

• The remaining archangels of Caelum (primarily Hope and Valor)

• Cirogaan, the Sun Demon

• EXOSPHERE (and perhaps by extension, Rook and Paragon)

• The Demigods (perhaps excluding Ozma)
