RADIANCE

Radiance (or the Archangel of Radiance) is the immortal sovereign of Caelum, the last realm of angelkind. He has seen in part the shaping of the universe, the cataclysms of Kala, and certainly the ages of the Earth as he is also a Farer.  Many of the angels worship him as the Genesis of Light, and thus a beacon of virtue, dignity, and power. Though not omniscient, his sight and influence are far-reaching as many other cosmic beings have visited Caelum pay homage to or simply gaze upon him.

Radiance has witnessed many eras of peace and many of war. He was one of the first who encountered the Archdemon Antistrophe and agreed upon Earth as a sanctuary for his children, the first demons. After numerous conflicts, however, he proposed to Antistrophe an accord that would restrict demonkind to a hidden realm called the Overneath. He then devised a plan to imbue certain humans with great powers in order to defend their kind from any demons that would seek to violate this agreement. He called them the “demigods”.

Though warring with demonkind had largely ceased, it was not uncommon for humans or even visiting angels to go missing on earth. Radiance, ever suspicious of Antistrophe and his demons, called upon a group of archangels in Caelum to help him maintain vigilance and order. He chose each of these angels for the virtues which they adamantly upheld and cherished many of them as his own children.
