FACILITES
Various laboratories available in Applied Mechanics Department:
Concrete Technology lab
Concrete technology provides information on materials, properties, mix design, types, strength and durability of concrete. To enhance the quality of workmanship properties of various materials used in civil engineering is of prime importance and this experiments to know the properties and behaviour of construction materials is carried out in Concrete Technology laboratory. This laboratory will provide knowledge of materials such as cement, sand, aggregate etc. This laboratory also provide good knowledge of fresh concrete and hardened concrete properties.

Engineering Mechanics Lab
This laboratory gives the basic understanding of structural member under the action of loads by applying engineering mechanics laws. Engineering Mechanics is to develop the capacity to predict the effects of force while carrying out the creative design functions of engineering. This lab will give experience to learn and apply the principles required to solve engineering mechanics problems. The students will experience the changes in behaviour of structure due to application of loads. Basics of determinate structures will be introduced through experiment. The main purpose of any structure is to support the loads coming on it by properly transferring them to the foundation.

Centre of gravity apparatus
Friction apparatus
Different simple machines (Single/Double purchase grab, Simple screw etc.)
Soil mechanics lab
Soil mechanics laboratory at the department level provide the practical and hands-on experience in carrying out various tests related to soil material. Soil mechanics laboratory is useful for carrying out practical related to properties of soil, which is of utmost importance in laying foundation of various civil engineering structures such as dams, roads, bridges and buildings. This laboratory will help students in identifying the type of soil and its different properties.

Mechanics of structures lab
Many materials are being used for construction, the prime importance of that material is its strength. I.e. tensile, compression, shear, etc. can be tested in this laboratory. Laboratory also deals with the measurement of deflection and important phenomena of mass moment of inertia for a solid body.
