About WDC

The Women Development Cell (WDC) aims to empower girl students by promoting gender equality, creating awareness about women’s rights, and ensuring a safe and supportive campus environment. It organizes various programs to develop skills, leadership, and social responsibility among girls. 

Objectives

• To promote gender equality and ensure that girls get equal opportunities in academics and leadership.

• To make girls aware of their rights and the laws that protect them, like the POSH Act.

• To help girls develop technical, professional, and life skills through workshops and training.

• To provide a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all girl students on campus.

• To promote health and wellness among girls through sessions on hygiene, nutrition, and mental health.

• To encourage girls to take part in leadership, competitions, and college activities.

• To involve girls in community service and activities that promote social awareness and responsibility.

WDC Activities

• Self-Defense Training Workshops:

  • Sessions on basic self-defense techniques for personal safety and confidence building.

• Legal Awareness Seminars:

  • Talks by legal experts on women’s rights, laws like the POSH Act, and cyber safety.

• Health and Hygiene Camps:

  • Awareness programs on menstrual hygiene, nutrition, mental wellness, and fitness.

• Entrepreneurship & Skill Development Sessions:

  • Workshops on communication skills, resume building, technical tools, and small business ideas.

• Gender Sensitization Programs:

  • Activities to promote respect, equality, and positive gender attitudes among students.

• Guest Lectures by Women Achievers:

  • Motivational talks by successful women in engineering, business, or social work.

• Poster & Essay Competitions on Women Issues:

  • Creative contests to spread awareness about women empowerment and social justice.

• Celebration of Women’s Day / Girl Child Day:

  • Cultural programs, debates, and honors recognizing the role of women and girls.

• Career Guidance & Mentorship Programs:

  • Sessions with female professionals guiding students on career paths and personal growth.
