The tutorials will be student-led, by the home based students

There will be a tutorial each week with the GP tutor where the home based students and practice based students should all join, and work collaboratively to agree the agenda.

Role of the GP Tutor

  • First tutorial - induction, learning needs assessment and setting the agenda/format for future tutorials, discuss findings of PHE fingertips data with students

  • Facilitate learning in the other virtual tutorials - feedback on CBD/Reflections presented by home-base students

  • Review VPC (Virtual Primary Care) videos with students and discuss

  • Discuss PUNS (Patient's Unmet Needs) and DENS (Doctors Educational Needs) that have emerged.

  • Discuss with students any issues arising after they have looked at the material on the GP Themes for that week.

  • Facilitate feedback from yourself and students for the Group Based Assessment in penultimate tutorial

Role of the Home-based Students

  • Schedule tutorial on Microsoft Teams

  • Present CBDs which could then be signed off by GP in logbook

  • Set agenda and prepare cases and material for future tutorials (after discussion with each other and the GP Tutor)

  • Present PUNS and DENS

  • Discuss issues raised after watching a consultation on the Virtual Primary Care website

  • Work collaboratively on Group Presentation and present near the end of their placement.

  • Discuss issues arising from working on material linked to the GP Themes.
