Label Profile

Labels are used in GoTour for printing information like bag tags, name tags, and addresses. A label profile is used to design a label with user applied customization. When printing labels the profile information is applied to the label content (e.g., customer name and address). Avery product, margins, and font are profile settings used to format the content to produce the final result. A label profile is selected just prior to printing a label. See the Running Reports topic for more information.

GoTour uses the Avery Template Alliance model to deliver uniform dimensional printing to your labels. You can have many label profiles using different Avery products. When a new instance is launched several default label profiles are automatically added along with a few Avery products.

The default label profiles link to the following reports:

  • Customer Label
  • Passenger Label
  • Passenger Labels
  • Passenger Bag Tags
  • Passenger Name Tags

The default profiles are all linked to the "Avery 5163 Shipping Labels" Avery product. You can change the Avery product to any of the pre-installed Avery products.

The pre-installed Avery products are:

  • Avery 5160 Easy Peel Address Labels
  • Avery 5260 Easy Peel Address Labels
  • Avery 5263 Shipping Labels
  • Avery 5392 Name Badge Insert Refills
  • Avery 8662 Easy Peel Address Labels

To request a specific Avery product please contact RBS at 800-448-7001. GoTour supports printing to Avery products only.

Basics

Using a descriptive name for your profile can help distinguish it during printing. The name is required and can be any convention desired.

The creator field is for future use but is a required field.

A label profile is required to be linked to a specific report. The reports that print labels (see list above) are shown on the pages that support label based reports. For example, a label profile linked to the "Customer Labels" report will be available in the reports section on the customer information page. The pages with label based reports and the label profile they are linked to is customer, tour, and passenger.

A label profiles is required to be linked to an Avery product. GoTour comes pre-installed with a few Avery products (see list above). Choose an Avery product that meets your requirements for report of labels that will be printed.

Margins and fonts can be adjusted for the desired presentation.

Navigation & Action Menu Items

Designer

The "Designer" menu (paintbrush icon) can be used to design a label profile. The designer is a visual tool to help with the placement and presentation of content. The designer is not meant to be a pixel perfect representation of the final labels but can help in the design stage of your profile.

Test

Testing the profile can be done using the "Test Profile" menu (lightning icon). Select a customer to test a profile designed for a customer label. Other label profiles can be tested by navigating to a tour and running reports that use labels (e.g., bag tags).
